§ 32354 Disability Retirement Pension Limits

• •If you retire because you got hurt or sick at work, you get a pension.
• •The pension is half of your last salary, but not more than $250 a month.
• •If you didn’t choose a special option before, your pension can’t be more than $150 a month.

A firefighter gets hurt on the job and can’t work anymore.

The firefighter will get a pension every month. If their last salary was $600 a month, their pension would be $300 a month. But if they didn’t pick a special option earlier, they can only get up to $150 a month instead.
