§ 3022 Senate Impeachment Trial Process

Key Takeaways

  • •The managers have to write down the reasons why someone should be impeached.
  • •They must present these reasons to the Senate.
  • •The Senate will then hold a trial to decide if the person should be impeached.

Example

If a high-ranking official, like a judge, does something really bad, like taking bribes.

The managers will write down what the judge did wrong, tell the Senate about it, and the Senate will have a trial to decide if the judge should lose their job.
