§ 27283 Mining Claim Notices Validation

Key Takeaways

  • •Old mining claims filed before March 9, 1897, don't need extra paperwork to be valid.
  • •Even if the paperwork wasn't officially signed or proven back then, it still counts.
  • •This rule only applies to claims filed before that date, not newer ones.

Example

A person finds an old mining claim from 1890 that wasn't properly signed.

Even though the claim wasn't officially signed back then, it's still valid today because it was filed before March 9, 1897.
