§ 27280 Property Title Recording Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •You can officially record papers that show who owns a house or land.
  • •If you sell or buy a house, you might fill out a special form about the change.
  • •That special form is secret and only the tax people can see it, not the public.

Example

You buy a new house from someone.

When you buy the house, you sign papers to show you own it now. There’s also a secret form that tells the tax office about the sale, but nobody else can look at it.
