§ 26366 Bond Project Usage Charges

Key Takeaways

  • •If the state builds something using money from special bonds, they can't give it away for free.
  • •Even the government or its workers usually have to pay to use it, unless they're working on the project.
  • •This rule is there to make sure the money from bonds is used fairly and not wasted.

Example

The state builds a new toll bridge using money from special bonds.

The state can't let people cross the bridge for free, even if they work for the city. Everyone has to pay the toll, unless they're working on the bridge itself.
