§ 25802 Animal Shelter Regulation

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can run animal shelters and decide where animals can roam freely.
  • •They can hire people to manage these shelters.
  • •The money to run the shelters comes from fines paid by owners of picked-up animals or from the county's money.

Example

If your dog is found running loose in a park where dogs aren't allowed to roam freely, it might get taken to the animal shelter.

The shelter is run by the government, and you might have to pay a fine to get your dog back. This fine helps pay for the shelter's costs.
