§ 25523 County Funds From Property Sales

Key Takeaways

  • •If the county sells something it owns, the money from the sale must be used for the same kind of stuff the original money was for.
  • •The county can't just spend the money on anything—they have to follow local, state, and federal rules.
  • •The money has to go back into the same pot it came from.

Example

The county sells an old park bench it bought with park money.

The money from selling the bench can't be used to fix roads—it has to go back into the park fund to buy new benches or improve parks.
