§ 25503 County Property Trade-In Allowances

Key Takeaways

  • •The county can trade in old stuff (like cars or computers) that they don’t need anymore, but only if it’s worth less than $10,000.
  • •The county doesn’t have to ask for bids (like an auction) if they’re just trading in old stuff for new stuff.
  • •The county buying person (purchasing agent) decides if the old stuff is really not needed before trading it in.

Example

The county wants to buy a new truck and trade in an old one.

If the old truck is worth $8,000 and the county doesn’t need it anymore, they can trade it in without asking for bids.
