§ 23216 School District Census Transfer

Key Takeaways

  • •If a school area moves to a different county, the old county must share the latest student count with the new county.
  • •The old county must also give any money owed to the schools in that area to the new county.
  • •This makes sure schools get the right money and info after a change.

Example

A small town's schools switch from County A to County B because the town lines changed.

County A must send County B the latest list of students in those schools and any money that belongs to them. This way, County B knows how many kids to plan for and has the money to run the schools.
