§ 23215 County Tax Assessment Sharing

Key Takeaways

  • •If two counties are involved in a tax issue, they must share copies of all tax documents with each other.
  • •The copies of these documents are treated as if they were the originals.
  • •The tax process in one county will be accepted as valid in the other county, just like it happened there.

Example

County A and County B share a border, and some people live or own property near that border. County A collects taxes from these people.

County A must send copies of all the tax documents to County B. County B will treat these copies like they are the original documents, and the tax process will be accepted as if County B did it themselves.

All proceedings recited in the copies shall be deemed original proceedings in the other affected county and shall have the same effect as if the proceedings had been had at the proper time and in the proper manner by the respective officials of that county.
