§ 23124 Merced County Boundaries

Key Takeaways

  • •This law describes the boundaries of Merced County in California.
  • •It starts at the northwest corner and follows specific lines and landmarks to outline the county's edges.
  • •The boundaries include rivers, creeks, and man-made lines like canals and roads.
  • •The description uses old survey maps and landmarks to define the exact edges of the county.

Example

Imagine you are driving from Stanislaus County into Merced County. You cross the line described in this law, which is like an invisible fence marking where one county ends and another begins.

This law helps people know exactly where Merced County starts and ends. If you are in a car crash or need help, knowing which county you are in tells you which police or fire department to call.
