§ 14656 Department Authority Transfer

Key Takeaways

  • •The Department of General Services and its director now handle the jobs and responsibilities that used to belong to the Director of Finance and the Department of Finance.
  • •This change includes taking over specific old laws from 1944 and 1946.
  • •It’s like passing the baton in a race—the new department is now in charge of those tasks.

Example

Imagine if the school principal’s job was given to the vice principal. Now, the vice principal is in charge of all the things the principal used to do.

This law does the same thing but for government departments. The Department of General Services now does what the Department of Finance used to do under those old laws.
