§ 14120 Emergency Disaster Response Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can declare an emergency during big disasters like storms or floods.
  • •The emergency must be serious and affect many people in the state.
  • •The government can then take quick action to fix damage and keep people safe.
  • •This is only for really bad situations, not small problems.

Example

A huge flood covers many towns, destroying roads and homes.

The government can say it's an emergency and start fixing roads and helping people right away because it's a big problem for everyone.
