§ 13907 Board Member Authority Delegation

• •When most of the board members agree on something during a meeting, it becomes the official decision of the whole board.
• •The board can pick one member to do investigations, ask questions, or hold hearings instead of the whole board doing it.

A school board needs to decide if a new rule about homework should be made.

If most of the board members vote 'yes' during the meeting, the new rule is officially decided. Or, the board could pick one member to talk to teachers and parents about the rule before making a decision.
