§ 12854 Agency Power Delegation

Key Takeaways

  • •If a big boss in a government office has a special power, they can let someone else in the office use that power too.
  • •The big boss has to write it down and say who can use the power.
  • •This is just for people who work in the same office, not anyone outside.

Example

The boss of the DMV can let a manager sign off on driver's licenses.

The boss writes a note saying the manager can do this job now, so the manager can help more people get their licenses faster.
