§ 12742 State Plan Amendment Process

• •The government can change the state plan anytime during the year.
• •Before changing the plan, they must tell everyone involved and give them 30 days to say what they think.
• •They have to send the changes to people at least 45 days before they want to make them official.

Imagine your school wants to change the rules for lunch time. Before they do, they have to tell all the students, teachers, and parents about the new rules and give them a month to say if they like them or not.

Just like the school, the government has to tell everyone about the changes they want to make and give them time to share their thoughts.
