§ 12626 Exchange Program Registration Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Groups that bring foreign students to California must fill out a form for the Attorney General to get approved.
  • •The form must include basic info like the group’s name, who’s in charge, and where students were placed last year.
  • •If anything changes (like a new boss or address), the group must tell the Attorney General within 30 days.
  • •The Attorney General checks the form—if it’s all good, the group gets registered.

Example

A company called 'Global Friends' wants to bring 20 students from Japan to live with families in California and go to school there.

Global Friends must fill out a form for the Attorney General with details like their boss’s name, where the students will go to school, and how long they’ll stay. If they move offices later, they have 30 days to tell the Attorney General about the change.
