§ 11137 Funding Cuts For Violations

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company or local group breaks the rules of a state program, they can lose some or all of their state money.
  • •The state will check if the rules were broken before taking money away.
  • •This applies to contractors, groups getting grants, and local agencies.

Example

A local school gets money from the state to run an after-school program. But they use the money to buy new computers for the office instead of running the program.

The state finds out and can stop giving money to the school because they didn’t follow the rules for how to use the money.
