§ 11006 Fingerprint Service Provider Choice

Key Takeaways

  • •State agencies can't force you to use only certain fingerprinting places for things like jobs or licenses.
  • •If a state agency lists some fingerprinting places on their website, they must also link to the full list from the Department of Justice.
  • •You can choose any certified fingerprinting place, not just the ones a state agency suggests.

Example

You need fingerprints for a teaching job.

The school can't tell you to go to only one fingerprinting place. They can suggest some, but they must also give you a link to all the approved places so you can pick the one you like.
