§ 7650 Association Investment Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •Groups can take time to fix money problems if they acted honestly at first.
  • •If a group is in trouble or doesn’t follow rules, they need permission before fixing money problems.
  • •Permission must be in writing from the boss (commissioner).

Example

A small club loans money to a member to buy a food truck, but the member can’t pay it back.

The club can take time to sell the food truck to get their money back, as long as they tried to do things right at the start. But if the club was already in trouble for breaking rules, they have to ask the commissioner in writing before selling the truck.
