§ 683 Claim Objection Process

• •If the court agrees with the complaint, the person making the claim must prove it in court to get paid.

Imagine your neighbor says the city owes them money for fixing a sidewalk, but you think they didn’t really do the work.

You can tell the commissioner you disagree. The commissioner will take your complaint to court when they next ask to pay out money. If the court agrees with you, your neighbor will have to prove in court that they really fixed the sidewalk to get paid.
