§ 31033 Business Day Definition

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'business day' is any day that is not Saturday or Sunday.
  • •It also doesn't count as a business day if it's a holiday listed in the Government Code.
  • •So, if something needs to be done in '3 business days,' weekends and holidays don't count.

Example

You order something online, and the delivery says it will arrive in '5 business days.'

If you order it on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday don't count. So, the 5 days start counting from Monday. Holidays also don't count, so if Tuesday is a holiday, it doesn't count either.
