§ 30005 Securities Depository Exemptions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law does not apply to certain special banks that hold stocks and securities.
  • •It doesn’t apply if the bank is owned by a big national stock exchange or a similar group.
  • •It also doesn’t apply if the bank is already watched by the U.S. government or California’s money regulators.

Example

A big bank that holds stocks for people is already checked by the U.S. government.

This law says California won’t add extra rules to that bank because the U.S. is already keeping an eye on it.
