§ 23102 Pre-2005 Deferred Deposit Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Old payday loan rules from before 2005 still apply to loans made back then.
  • •If the police or courts started a case about these old loans, it doesn’t stop just because the rules changed.
  • •The old rules stay in place for loans made before December 31, 2004.

Example

You took out a payday loan in 2003 and didn’t pay it back.

Even though the rules for payday loans changed later, the old rules from 2003 still apply to your loan. If the police or courts were already dealing with your case, it doesn’t just go away because the rules changed.
