§ 22151 License Posting Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Licenses for money lenders, brokers, and mortgage workers must be clearly displayed in their office.
  • •You can't give or sell your license to someone else—it stays with the original owner.
  • •If a partner in a licensed business dies or leaves, the license stays valid unless the whole business shuts down.

Example

A bank has a license on the wall to show they can legally lend money.

If the bank doesn’t display the license, they could get in trouble. Also, if the bank’s owner tries to sell the license to another company, that’s not allowed.
