§ 18508 Guaranty Corporation Refund Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company is part of the Guaranty Corporation, they can't take back any money they put into their account.
  • •They also can't get back any extra money they paid in fees or assessments.
  • •The only time they can get their money back is if the Guaranty Corporation closes down completely.

Example

A bank pays money every month to be part of a safety group called Guaranty Corporation. One day, the bank wants some of that money back because they need it for other things.

The bank can't get the money back unless the Guaranty Corporation shuts down for good. Until then, the money stays with the Guaranty Corporation.
