§ 5932 Fish Passage Structure Funding

• •If the rules in this law are followed, the department can add more structures to help fish swim freely.
• •The department can spend money to build these new structures if they think it's needed.
• •The department can also pay for insurance in case something goes wrong with these structures.

A river has a dam that stops fish from swimming upstream to lay eggs.

The department can build a fish ladder (a special structure to help fish go around the dam) if they think it will help the fish. They can also buy insurance in case someone gets hurt near the fish ladder.
