Key Takeaways

  • •California has to fix the Salton Sea to help animals and nature.
  • •They must follow a special plan to clean it up.
  • •The goal is to make the water and air safe and bring back fish and birds.
  • •The cleanup includes the sea, nearby farmland, and rivers that flow into it.

Example

Imagine the Salton Sea is like a big, sick pond where birds and fish are struggling because the water is bad and the air is dusty.

This law says California has to clean up the pond, make sure birds and fish can live there again, and stop the dust from making the air dirty. They have to follow a special plan and use money meant just for this cleanup.
