§ 1931 Natural Area Cooperation Policy

This law says the state wants everyone – government, local groups, and private people – to work together to protect the most important natural places.

Key Takeaways

  • •The state’s goal is to protect its most valuable natural areas.
  • •All levels of government and private individuals are invited to help.
  • •Working together is encouraged, not required, but the policy supports it.

Example

A farmer lets a state agency and a nonprofit group help preserve a nearby forest that is home to rare wildlife.

Because the law encourages cooperation, the farmer can team up with the agency and the nonprofit to keep the forest healthy without breaking any rules.
