§ 1150 County Fish Hatchery Authority

• •County supervisors are allowed to start and run fish hatcheries.
• •They can also buy fish spawn or eggs.
• •The law gives them the permission, but does not set limits on how many or what kind.

A county builds a hatchery to raise trout and buys trout eggs from a nearby fish farm.

Because the law says counties can create hatcheries and purchase fish eggs, the county can do exactly that to stock local rivers.
