§ 1123 Fish Stocking Authority

• •The department is allowed to buy fish eggs or young fish.

• •The department can put those eggs or young fish into any water in the state.

The department buys salmon eggs from another state and releases them into a local river.

Because the law says the department can purchase and import fish eggs that are good to eat and stock them in state waters, the department is allowed to do this to help grow more salmon for people to catch and eat.
