§ 20020 Support Hearing Document Requirements

This law says that if you're in a court fight about temporary child or spousal support, both sides must show their tax returns and paycheck stubs to the court and the Family Law Evaluator.

Key Takeaways

  • •Both people in the case must share their tax returns from the last two years.
  • •Both must also show paycheck stubs from the last four months.
  • •These documents help the court figure out fair support payments.
  • •This rule is for temporary support during the court process, not the final decision.

Example

A couple is going through a divorce and can't agree on how much one parent should pay the other for child support while the divorce is happening.

Both parents must bring their last two years of tax returns and their paycheck stubs from the last four months to court. This helps the judge decide how much support should be paid based on what each person actually earns.
