§ 17307 Child Support Payment Timing

This law says the Department of Child Support Services can fix problems caused by changes in when child support payments arrive because of a new federal system. It doesn’t let them ignore other rules about money or tech projects.

Key Takeaways

  • •This law helps fix delays in child support payments caused by a new federal system.
  • •The department can adjust payment timing but must still follow other money and tech rules.
  • •It doesn’t create new powers—it just clarifies what the department can already do.

Example

A parent usually gets child support on the 1st of the month, but because of a new system, the payment arrives on the 5th instead.

The Department of Child Support Services can step in to make sure the parent gets the money on time, even if the new system causes delays.
