§ 1503 Premarital Agreements Validity

• •Premarital agreements made before 1986 are still valid.
• •These old agreements follow the rules that were in place before 1986.
• •This law doesn’t change anything for agreements made before 1986.

A couple signed a premarital agreement in 1980 to protect their individual properties.

Even though the law changed later, their 1980 agreement is still valid and will be treated under the old rules from before 1986.
