§ 9272 Biologics Exemption Criteria

Key Takeaways

  • •This law does not apply to places that handle human blood or blood products if they are licensed and only sell to other licensed places.
  • •It also does not apply to certain labs that make special vaccines for animals when asked by a vet.
  • •Private vets who take blood only for their own work are also not covered by this law, except for a few specific rules.

Example

A local vet takes blood from a sick dog to test it in their own clinic.

This vet does not have to follow all the rules in this law because they are only using the blood for their own work.
