§ 9269 Public Records Confidentiality Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Most records about animal blood donations are open to the public, like applications or inspection reports.
  • •Personal info (like your address, social security number, or medical history) is kept private and won’t be shared.
  • •The government can share general info (like age or race) as long as it doesn’t point to a specific person.
  • •Police and other government agencies can see these records if they’re working on a related case.

Example

If you donate your dog’s blood for a pet blood bank, your name and address won’t be given to random people who ask.

The law keeps your personal details secret, but things like inspection reports for the blood bank are public.
