§ 8756 Citrus District Dissolution Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •A group of leaders (called the board of supervisors) can decide to close down a special area (district) made for citrus farms.
  • •They only close it if most of them agree it will help the citrus business in the county.
  • •They make it official by writing a special paper (resolution) to close the district.

Example

Imagine there’s a special zone in a county just for orange and lemon farms. The farmers in that zone have to follow extra rules and pay extra fees.

If most of the leaders in the county think getting rid of this special zone will help the farmers sell more oranges and lemons, they can vote to close the zone. They write it down in an official paper to make it happen.
