§ 80121 Native Plant Possession Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Some special plants need a tag or seal to show they were taken legally.
  • •If you have these plants without the right tag or seal, they can be taken away.
  • •For big amounts of mesquite or palo verde wood (like a truckload), you need a wood receipt.
  • •If you don’t have the receipt, the wood can be taken as proof you broke the rules.

Example

You cut down a bunch of mesquite trees to sell as firewood.

If you have a whole truck full of this wood but no receipt to show where it came from, the police can take it because you broke the rule about having proof.
