§ 78710 Tomato Assessment Fraud Penalties

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't lie on reports about tomatoes to avoid paying fees.
  • •You must give the commission any tomato reports they ask for.
  • •If you sell tomatoes, you have to tell the commission where you got them and how many.
  • •Don't hide, destroy, or change tomato records.

Example

A tomato seller writes down that they sold fewer tomatoes than they really did to pay less in fees.

This is breaking the law because they lied on their report to avoid paying the correct fee.
