§ 77661 Producer Program Continuation Review

Key Takeaways

  • •Every 10 years, starting in 2001, there's a meeting to decide if this law should keep going.
  • •If many people who pay fees under this law are unsure about keeping it, there will be a vote.
  • •If most people vote 'yes,' the law stays. If not, the law stops at the end of the current season.

Example

Imagine a group of farmers who pay fees to support a program that helps sell their crops. Every 10 years, they get to vote on whether to keep this program running.

If many farmers are unsure about the program, the boss (secretary) will hold a vote. If most farmers vote 'yes,' the program continues. If not, the program stops after the current selling season ends.
