§ 77550 Commission Corporate Powers

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission is like a company—it can make deals, use a special stamp (seal), and go to court if needed.
  • •If the commission writes something down and signs it, that paper is usually enough to prove it’s true in court.
  • •It can do all the things a regular company can do, like sign contracts or take legal action.

Example

The commission signs a contract to buy new computers for its office.

Because the commission is like a company, it can legally make this deal. If someone later says the contract isn’t real, the commission can show the signed paper, and the court will likely believe it’s true.
