§ 76059 Cherry Commission Member Qualifications

Key Takeaways

  • •Only people who grow cherries or work for cherry growers can be on the cherry commission as producer members.
  • •Only people who ship cherries or work for cherry shippers can be on the commission as shipper members.
  • •You can't have more than one person from the same company on the commission at the same time.
  • •If you're on the commission, you have to keep being a cherry grower or shipper the whole time you're on it.

Example

A big cherry farm wants to have two of its managers on the cherry commission.

The law says only one person from the same company can be on the commission. So the farm can pick one manager to be on it, but not both.
