§ 75055 Commission Notice Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If the commission does something against a written warning, it doesn’t count as legal.
  • •The director must give a written warning before the commission signs any contracts about the stuff in the warning.
  • •The warning must say exactly what’s wrong and why it’s bad for the public or breaks the rules.
  • •The director can suggest fixes to make the actions okay.

Example

A city commission wants to build a new park but doesn’t follow the rules about safety.

The director sends a written warning saying the park plans are unsafe and breaks the rules. If the commission ignores the warning and starts building, their actions won’t be legal, and they might have to stop or fix it.
