§ 74862 Winegrape Commission Reapportionment

• •The number of people representing each area on the commission can change over time.
• •The changes are based on how much winegrapes each area produces.
• •No area can have fewer than one or more than five representatives.

Imagine two areas, Area A and Area B, that grow winegrapes. Area A starts producing a lot more winegrapes than Area B.

The law says that Area A might get more representatives on the commission because it’s producing more winegrapes. But even if Area B produces very few winegrapes, it will still have at least one representative.
