§ 74536 Vintner Licensing Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •A vintner is someone who grows grapes and makes wine or grape products like juice or brandy.
  • •They must have a special license from the state to do this.
  • •If a vintner processes 100 tons or less of grapes in a year, this law doesn’t apply to them.

Example

A small family-owned vineyard crushes 50 tons of grapes to make wine each year.

Since they process less than 100 tons of grapes, they don’t have to follow the rules in this law.
