§ 66682 Antitrust Compliance Defense

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company follows the rules in this law, they can’t be punished for breaking other competition laws.
  • •This law can protect businesses if they follow the rules set by the government for fair competition.
  • •It’s like a ‘get out of jail free’ card if the company played by the rules.

Example

A group of gas stations agrees to set the same price for gas, but they follow the rules set by the government to keep prices fair.

Even though setting the same price might seem like breaking competition rules, if they followed the government’s rules, they won’t get in trouble.
