§ 64506 Legal Entity Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law defines who counts as a 'person' in legal terms.
  • •A 'person' can be a single human, a group of people, or a business.
  • •Even companies, partnerships, and trusts are considered 'persons' under this law.

Example

If you own a small bakery with your friend, your bakery is considered a 'person' under this law.

This means the law treats your bakery like a single 'person,' even though it's really two people working together.
