  • •Farmers send in forms to claim money they're owed. The government checks these forms.
  • •The government adds up all the claims and tells each farmer how much they get.
  • •If a farmer thinks the amount is wrong, they have 30 days to ask the government to check again.

Example

A group of dairy farmers sell milk to the government. At the end of the year, they send in forms saying how much milk they sold.

The government adds up all the milk sold by all farmers and tells each farmer how much money they will get. If one farmer thinks they should get more money, they can ask the government to check their numbers again within 30 days.
