§ 62574 Producer Assessment Reduction Transfer

Key Takeaways

  • •After paying money into a special fund, the secretary can move half of that extra money to another fund for farmers.
  • •This moved money helps lower the fees farmers have to pay for certain programs.
  • •The secretary has to talk to the board before moving the money.

Example

If the state gets extra money from taxes and puts $100 into a fund, the secretary can take $50 of that and give it to farmers to help lower their fees.

This means farmers don’t have to pay as much money for things like programs that help them grow food.
