§ 62076 Milk Pricing Economic Factors

Key Takeaways

  • •The government sets fair prices for different types of milk sold by farmers to stores or factories.
  • •They look at how much money different milk products (like cheese or yogurt) can make.
  • •They check prices of other similar milk to make sure the price is fair.
  • •For milk used in factories, they think about costs like making cheese or butter.

Example

A dairy farmer sells milk to a cheese factory.

The government makes sure the farmer gets a fair price by checking how much cheese sells for and how much it costs to make it.
